The Melugin Family Birthdays

On Saturday, we drove to Burleson and celebrated our nieces' birthdays. Chloe turns 2 this month and Kaytlynn turns 8.

We drove up to see an ENORMOUS bounce house that could be seen from the front of the house and towering over the roof :)

We always love spending time with friends and family!

Well....I have to start off with a
picture of our bundle of joy.....

And here is our niece, cutie Cate that will be turning 1 next month......

Here is Birthday Girl #1 - Kaytlynn, 8

And Birthday Girl #2 - Chloe, 2

After the celebration, we went ahead and had bathtime at David and Layna's house......

Noah and Daddy

Needless to say that we were exhausted by the end and crashed!

Great American Baby Contest

Once again I have submitted Noah into a baby contest:

Please take a moment to vote!!

Our Son the Grandfather Clock

You know those grandfather clocks.....

They chime every hour on the hour....

Even in the wee hours of the night....

Without fail....

That would be a fairly accurate analogy for our son!

Our son....the Grandfather Clock!

I mean, really! Last night he is down by 7:15 p.m. He does sleep until 11 p.m., then wakes up to eat. Then again at 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and finally 7!

I tried to soothe him back to sleep before feeding him, but that didn't work.

And then I fed him - each time - and he ate a full serving! This is not a case of nursing back to sleep!

Fair to say that we are exhausted!!!

We might as well have a fancy clock in our house!

We were in need of diapers and I love taking advantage of CVS and their extracare bucks!!

So this is what I did today!!!

In my first transaction, I bought two (2) packs of Pampers Cruisers - they were on sale for $8.97 each with $3.00 ECB (Extra Care Bucks) back on each one. In addition, I had two (2) $2 off coupons, so I was able to use one on each

$8.97 +$8.97 = $17.94

- $4.00 in coupons + Tax

= $15.09 with $6.00 in ECB

I purchased some gripe water (which our FSA will cover) at $11.99, two (2) Boxes of Raisin Bran for $1.97 each (using a $1.50/2 coupon) and then one 7.6 oz. Colgate Total for $3.99 with $3.99 back in ECB.

$11.99 Gripe Water
$3.99 Colgate Total
$1.97 Raisin Bran
$1.97 Raisin Bran
-$1.50 Raisin Bran
-$11.99 Gripe Water (FSA)
-$6.00 in ECB from previous diaper purchase

Total spent in second purchase = .43
PLUS I got the $3.99 in ECB from the Colgate Total......

So in reality I got:

Two (2) Packages of Pampers Cruisers
Gripe Water
Colgate Total
Two (2) Boxes of Raisin Bran

All for $11.53 :)

Arbor Hills Nature Reserve in PLANO

Did you know that there is a nature reserve in Plano????

I had coffee scheduled today, but it was cancelled, so I decided to check it out.....

There are over 2 miles of paved walking paths, then unpaved trails and biking trails. Three lookouts, a park area for picnics and a playground!

We will definitely be visiting this again!! Parker and Midway for those that are curious :)

Holy Poop Batman!

You hear it time and time again......stories of unruly baby poop.

Across the walls, across the floor.....

We've had two major incidents with Noah - once when he was a newborn and he shot his poop across the room, nearly hitting his bookshelf.

The second was at a friends house about a month ago......needless to say we had to borrow an outfit from them!

The third was today. He was stinky all morning...but lo and behold .... nothing.

I placed Noah in his jumperoo and that must have opened the floodgates! I picked him up when he got fussy and he was even stinkier than before. I decided to change his diaper and take him out of his PJ's............

It consumed his diaper....up his back....all on the inside of his onesie!

Then as I was changing him, how it happens....I don't know! On my hands .... on his feet .... in my wedding and engagement ring! AH!

I stripped him - threw everything in the hamper - and put him in his bath! Whew......

What a nightmare! LOL!

The joys of parenthood .... :) Stories you'll never forget!

Cell Phones = Flashlights

We've been doing this since Noah was born, but only last night did I realize how absolutely funny it is!

Noah still sleeps in a bassinet next to my bedside since he STILL does is not anywhere close to sleeping through the night and still feeds 3-4 times every night......

We have started "getting ready" for bed in our guest bathroom so as not to wake little man.

When we need to venture into the bedroom, though, that is when it begins....we break out the cell phones and the soft glow of the screen serves as a flashlight to guide us to our PJ's, bedside, etc. I even use it to peek into his bassinet to make sure that he is doing OK. For some reason, the cell phone light is soft enough not to wake him!

The funny thing is, though, as much as we try.....and even with the alternate use of this technology, it is inevitable that we still make as much noise as we possibly can!

Amazing Cheddar French Dip Sandwiches

I know that I blog mostly about Noah, but being a stay at home mom has allowed me to be adventurous in the kitchen and become a little more active outside of the home, in my hobbies and take the time to live a more frugal life :)

So, from time to time, I'll post recipes that I find that are great! I may post some great coupon deals and more.

Please share this blog with anyone that you think might be interested!

Our First Cereal!

Yesterday was a big day for us!

First of all, it was great because Jonathan took the day off to stay at home with us!

Noah and I started off the day by going to MoMe Yoga at Northpark Mall again. Once again it was outside - way to sunny and way to windy to have babies outside. We made it about 3/4 of the way through before he LOST it! I ended up having to leave early.

Then we got back home, only to get ready for Noah's 4 month appointment that we all went to.

Noah was given a clean bill of health as well as all of his 4 month shots :( He did not take it well!

One of our major concerns is that Noah will be 4 months old on Tuesday and he is still waking up every 1.5 - hours!!! Since he has actually had 2 nights where he has pulled 7 hours straight, she knew that he COULD do it and was not concerned. She did give us the go-ahead for cereal though!!! YEAH!

Noah weighed in at 14.8 lbs (50th percentile) and 25.5" long (75% percentile). He apparently has gone through a HUGE length growth spurt!

After the appointment and calming Noah down, we ran to Sprouts to buy some organic rice cereal. Then tonight before bedtime, he had his first "solid" food. 1 tbsp. of cereal to 4 tbsp. of breastmilk.

We had a great time....Here are the pictures:

Sunny Days are Here to Stay

We have had some great sunny days the last couple of days! Well into into the low to mid 70's!

Since Noah is a winter baby and not quite used to a lot of sun, we have been trying to give him a lot of outdoor time.

I placed him in his swing outside, while I was cleaning all of the toys that I bought at Divine Consign. Noah LOVES watching Marquis play fetch!

We also took a walk today, after Daddy got off of work - It was so bright that we had to sport shades!

"Don't mess with me!"

Oh yeah! I'm Awesome!

We walked down to the park and swung in our first swing - Scroll down to see photos and video!

Whoa....Not quite sure about this!

Daddy Swinging Me......

I'm a Big Boy!

This is freakin' awesome! Keep it up Dad!

We LOVE Bath Time!

Noah gets a bath every night before bed....and it seems that he loves it more each night!

Mome Yoga

Last week we tried a MoMe Yoga class out at Northpark Mall with Bookmarks Public Library.

The concept was great.....except that they decided to have it outside and we had to lay the babies on their backs .... looking at the sky.....not good when there is no shade!

Noah screamed nearly the entire time, so I was able to do little yoga.....yet somehow I was still very sore the next day!

The pictures aren't great - Just way too bright.

Trying to block the sun!

Once again - Just trying to block the sun!

Texas Tech

Once again ----- It looks like Mommy is not giving me a choice!

"Long Live the Matadors!" .... GUNS UP!

With the Bumbo.....

I can sit up all by myself.....

And no....I am not going to the bathroom...... :)

WHOA! What are you doing to me???

Nursery Rhyme Tyme

I have been trying to become more active with Noah outside of the home for two reasons. To let him experience more than playing on the floor with Mommy - Number One. Number Two - To try and make some new Mommy friends, which seem so hard to find.

So, I found this Nursery Rhyme Tyme at the Lewisville Library. It's free and was so much fun.

There were actually to other girls in the class with me that had their baby boys' at the same hospital as me and were actually there at the same time as me as well. One baby, Bo, was 1 day younger than Noah and Gabe was 3 days older than Noah. Very cool.

The class was only 20 minutes long and is intended for children birth - 18 months old. It consisted of singing nursery rhymes, reading books - outloud and then just together, singing with bells and then playing with a parachute! Great fun!

We even get a free book if we go 15 times! Yeah!

Here was the fun:

We're 1st in Line - We've got our card!

Mommy reading "Sheep in a Jeep" to Noah

Noah and Mommy

PLAYING PARACHUTE :) At the end he started crying, which is why you see me put the camera down!

All tuckered out!

Until next time!!!

Future Red Raider

Noah has moved up into size 3 diapers and officially into his 6-9 month old clothes.

After bath time last night, Jonathan brought Noah to me for his nighttime feeding dressed like this ..... It gave me the biggest smile!

Go Tech!
