29 Weeks - Maternity Shoot, Showers and More!

We are closing in on the end of 29 weeks.

We had a very busy, but GREAT week!

On Thursday, we went to Fair Park to see the Broadway musical of Mary Poppins (thanks for the tickets Mom!). Our review? The set was great - Costumes great - Acting/Singing - Great - Storyline -......-hmmm.... Not quite the Mary Poppins that I remember. Lots of weird additions, new songs, just much different. Wasn't my favorite play.

On Friday, we had our nurse dietician come to our house to educate us on the gestational diabetes. To make a long story short, I am on a VERY RESTRICTED 1800 calorie diet each day and they are very specific as to what I can eat, when

I can eat and when I can eat what! In addition to this, I have to check my Ketone levels (liver function) each morning a

s well as checking my blood 4 times a day. Wait - there's more! Then I have to keep a food diary to present to my doctor - and includes EVERYTHING I eat all day long - as well as a Fetal Movement Diary. Wow! This is a full time job in itself!

On Saturday, our sister in-laws, Layna and Lena, along with our great friend Bill, threw us a great baby shower! Thank you so much to the three of you! It was a truly amazing shower!!!! We had a great time with friends and family! Thank you to all of our friends and family that came and thank you so much for all the spoils for the baby....LOL!

Then, Sunday was a very busy, but great day! We started the day with our first ever maternity shoot with Jamie Coupaud at the Dallas Arboretum. Here are some of the pics that we took (More to come):

We were surprised at the amount of people that were there! Lots of photographers too! We saw engagement pics, bridal portraits, quincenera pictures, Family Fall pictures, Halloween pictures and more! Crazy! We started at 10 a.m. when it was somewhat cool outside, but when we finished at 11:45 a.m., it was definitely in the low 90's!

Afterwards, we took about an hour break at home before we headed to our great friends - David and Brynn's house for a bible study. Not only were we thrilled to divulge in the teaching, but upon our departure, David & Brynn agreed to be our little baby boy's godparents! YEAH!!!

Then we headed to our new church plant - Restoration Anglican Church - for evening service.

It was quite a week and am looking forward to a week full of nothing to do after work each day!

SO......

At 29 weeks - this is where we are:

I am officially 39" around! Here is the proof:

What is going on with our sweet baby boy:
*He weighs about 2 1/2 pounds
* Tad over 15" long
* He will triple in size over the next 9-10 weeks! Eek!
* His head is growing to allow for a growing brain
* Fat fat fat - that is what his body is consuming at this point - most developmental changes are complete!

We hope that everyone is having a great week!

T-10 weeks!

YEAH!!!!

Love, Melanie & Jonathan
