38th and Final Week with Amelia
Well, after 7 weeks of modified bedrest, we've made it to the end of the parade.
We are now 38 weeks and 4 days pregnant with our second little one, Amelia Grace.
We are scheduled to c-section this Monday, August 15th!! YEAH!!
I never really blogged about it, but a week ago Saturday, was definitely the worst day that I had since I've been pregnant. I was in enduring full labor pains, but according to the nurse, was not laboring since I was not progressing. True enough, with less than 1 minute between some severe contractions that made me grip my bed rails and crying bloody murder, it was only intensified by kidney spasms caused by a raging urinary tract infection.
It was my first overnight visit since 31 weeks, and after two rounds of Nubane, two rounds of Turbutaline, two rounds of antibiotics and a dose of Ambien, they knocked me and my contractions out.
After it was all said and done, the brutal truth was that I really had not progressed past my standard 1 cm. So sad for me.
Luckily, though, I can now count down the days until we get to hold our baby girl ~ and I know that we will be truly blessed with an angel from heaven.
Jonathan finished painting the baby's room this past weekend and was able to move the furniture in so that I could start nesting and preparing for her arrival.
I think it's funny that I am so determined to have the nursery in place prior to her arrival, as I was with Noah as well, yet I know that she will not truly even use the nursery until she is several months old! Ah.....the type A momma.
Our last and final OB appointment was today and I am happy to say that I have progressed, even if ever so slightly. Bright and early Monday morning - we will arrive at the hospital in full anticipation of Amelia's arrival into this world.
Of course pictures will follow, but they will definitely come sooner into Facebook than into the blog :) So make sure to follow to catch those first and most wonderful glimpses of our new baby girl.
