Did you know that the earliest incarnations of Mother's Day was to bring together Mothers  whose sons had fought or died on opposite sides of the American Civil War. It became a national holiday on May 9, 1914 when President Woodrow Wilson issued a proclamation declaring the first national Mother's Day. This year Mother's Day falls on Sunday May 8.

10. Donate to a Charity in Your Mom's Name
If your Mom is the type who has everything and you are looking for something really special this Mother's Day, consider a charitable gift that gives back and says thank you from your heart—donating to a cause that’s special to your mother’s (or grandmothers, or wife’s, or…you get the point) heart! At JustGive.org you can select a charity and do just that. A great idea this year would be to make a donation towards the disaster relief for the devastating Southern tornadoes.
