Our First Night Away.......

Well, Jonathan and I had our first night away from Noah over the weekend - Grandma babysat.

Our anniversary is coming up on the 10th of May and we were also invited to a wedding in Fort Worth, so we tied the two events together and had a GREAT time in Fort Worth.

I attended a Moms Conference that morning featuring Jody Capehart, so we did not leave the house until around 3:00 p.m.

We headed to Fort Worth and checked into the Sheraton Downtown. We had a great room!

We went out and ran a couple of errands (mostly to go and get the wedding couple a gift!!!) We changed and headed out to hang out in Sundance Square when we returned. Of course, we did not make reservations for dinner and it happened to be Prom for some of the local high schools. So....we made the best out of it all.

We stopped into a restaurant to make 8:30 dinner reservations and we headed on.

At 5:30 ish, we had elk sausage and cheese grits as an appetizer along with a couple of beers! Best of all, it was at the Reata rooftop dining / bar. What an amazing view and fantastic weather!

Elk Sausage on Cheese Grits...Mmmmm....

Afterwards, we strolled around the square and spent some time in the Barnes and Noble. Then we headed to Simply Fondue for dinner. We decided to splurge a little since it was the celebration of our anniversary .... and since we had never been to fondue! What an amazing experience.

This was the best part...CHOCOLATE!

The next day, we slept in until 8:30!!! We got up and drove around and around and around trying to find a diner! Can you believe that we couldn't find one? We ended up at IHOP....but it was still amazing! And they even have healthy options now :)

We went back to the hotel, got ready for the wedding and headed to the Botanical Gardens. Oh my goodness gracious - it was beautiful, but SOOOO HOT!!!!!

The happy couple

I LOVED his ring!
From the Song of Solomon - The Hebrew inscription reads, "My beloved is mine, and I am hers"

And we had to stand in the sun. Good thing that I had an umbrella stashed in my purse!

After the wedding, we headed to the Fort Worth Stockyards and meandered around the stores since I had never been there. We even made it in time to see the Cattle Drive!

OH!!! And look at my sexy husband in this cowboy hat!

We ended up leaving before the reception, only because we waited for about an hour and a half and the bride and groom had not yet shown up.....We needed to get home.

It was such an amazing weekend and a great opportunity for Jonathan and I to reconnect as a husband and a wife :)
