About The Trendy Hound .... In her Own Words:

While fostering three hounds, Stanley, Simon and Prissy, Laura and her husband quickly became aware of the great amount of energy and frustration associated with walking multiple dogs at once. Three times the crazy fun, three times the strength, three times the poop, and three times the sniffing. Within moments from leaving our drive-way the leashes were inevitably braided into a tangled mess, dogs were then on top of each other peeing on each other’s heads, to stop and pick up a ‘pile’ was to stop a freight train and we were suddenly that couple-with-the-crazy-hounds walking in the evening. We looked like a train wreck, barreling down the sidewalk.

One night, my husband looked at me and said, “There must be a better way. We need to design leashes that look great and are capable of letting us walk multiple dogs at one.”

Never one to turn down a chance to design or innovate Laura replied, “I am on it! I will research, sketch my design ideas and go to the craft store tomorrow to design a prototype!”

We decided at that moment to design a leash and collar prototype that will be cute, practical and will have onboard accessories allowing the owners to have a pleasant dog walk experience.

In 2009 I was laid off from interior design and architecture. I was used to working 60+ hours a week doing design work for Disney and Universal and Hard Rock Park in Myrtle Beach. Since then I have been trying to carve out a niche market in the doggy industry.

In addition.....

I am a HUGE recycling and reusing freak. I recycle for friends who live in apartments and do not have recycling facilities. I do not buy food at locations that would serve that food to me in Styrofoam. I take all packing peanuts from shipments I receive to a local Box & Mail for them to reuse (they love the FREE peanuts and I love not having to store them). I only use cloth bags or no bags.

I have found the best stuff at Salvation Army and Goodwills. I recently purchased a Thonet Rocking Chair for $20. They retail at $2,000. 

About the Dog Collar:

This festive textile exemplifies the red, white and blue in a patriotic display of banners and stars. 

The nylon webbing for this design is black. The thread color is navy. The collar hardware is white. 

This collar is dedicated to all of the SBR hounds who march in the annual Celebration, Florida parade.
