Eco Golf - Earth Friendly Golf Tees Review & Giveaway

Let me start by prefacing that my husband, Jonathan, LOVES TO GOLF!

While I am extremely sensitive about the product reviews that I present on Going Green with Noah, I am adamate that I inform each of my followers of eco-friendly products and conventional alternatives in a gracious and educational manner.

My husband approached me several weeks ago after seeing all of the great products that vendors were sending to me for reviews and giveaways, and I think that he was feeling a little left out.

This is where I stepped in to try and bring him into my review world - I found eco-friendly golf products!

Really?  They make such a thing?  Yes!

I recently found Eco-Golf, a "green" company that boasts eco-friendly golf tees!

Each year thousands of trees are harvested to make billions of inferior "one and done" wood tees. 

Bamboo tees while renewable create a larger carbon footprint than even wood tees as the manufacturing process to convert the bamboo uses more resources and is far more polluting. The bamboo tees then must be shipped from Asia making the footprint even larger.

Eco Golf offers an alternative solution - one where you can reduce, reuse, and recycle.

Reduce - your tee consumption by offering a superior product that lasts ten times longer than wood

Reuse - Unlike wood that may be used once or twice the Eco Tee can be reused many times

Recycle - All Eco tees are made utilizing recycled materials - pst industrial scrap and additives that will attack the polymers when activated by compost or buried. When the tee finally gives its all the product is degradable within 12 months or so in a compost or 48 months in a landfill.

The usage of wood tees in the US is estimated at over 2.5 billion per year.  The world market doubles this number.  It takes roughly 40 years to grow and harvest the tree to make wood tees.  It is estimated that 100,000 trees are harvested each year to make wooden golf tees.

Eco Golf looks into new and sustainable materials on an ongoing basis looking for the best option to be as green friendly as possible.

My husband has taken these tees out with him while golfing and simply hitting balls at the range.  He came up to me this morning..."Have you written the review yet?"

Well....no.... I hadn't, because I wasn't technically the one reviewing the item.  

"I L-O-V-E these tees!"

While I knew that he would love anything golf related, I can honestly say that I was surprised by his enthusiasm over this product.

These are the positive attributes that he found in these tees versus conventional wooden ones:

* They don't break!

         - Standard tees typically have a 1-2 stroke life and then they split into pieces.  Not only is this   

         unfortunate, but the remaining debris is usually not picked up by the user and pollutes the ground.

* Use only one during play

         - With conventional tees breaking so often, it is required to bring a plethora of tees with you during play.  

         With these eco-tees, Jonathan was able to bring only 2 with him and then only needed one during play.

Not only do these tees serve to help preserve the environment, they will ultimately save you money by not having to buy tees over and over and over again!
